Happy New Year from Practical Chicago

Looking for an exciting place to be for the New Year’s Eve countdown?  It does not get any better than the fireworks on the Chicago Riverwalk.  Chicago’s government definitely knows how to put on a great show.

It tends to be cold on New Year’s Eve.  But that really is not an issue.  You can gather on the River for the show and then head off to a nearby bar to warm up.

There are large crowds.  So a taxi or public transit are better options.  In recent years the CTA has offered free rides on New Year’s Eve.  This year it was from 10 PM to 4 AM.

Why pay $200 for a New Years event when you can have a blast for free?
