Home Depot’s In-Store Pickup Lockers Work Well

IMG_3730_R

Anyone who shops at Home Depot knows that it tends to involve a lot of walking.  Their stores are large.  A 2019 Forbes article put the average square footage per location at about 103,000 square feet.

Now a new system has made that situation easier.

Smaller orders can be paid for online and picked up in the store through a convenient locker system.  A confirmation email, with a QR code, is sent when the order is ready.  You take the email on your phone to the locker and scan the QR code.  The locker with your items opens and you pick them up.

You have seven days to come to the store.  After that the locker is cleared and the order canceled.

It is always impressive when a company can bring a new idea from drawing boards to reality and have it be an improvement.
